Wednesday, Oct. 9, is a one-hour late start to allow time for teachers to work together to implement best practices of high-quality instruction. Students will be released at usual times.
There is no student attendance on Friday, Oct. 11 due to a pre-scheduled teacher training day.
Parents looking for childcare can register their child(ren) for a day camp offered at Glenwood Heights Primary by Right At School. Information on pricing and how to register can be found on the Right At School website.
Battle Ground Public Schools is conducting a ThoughtExchange to gather your ideas about some important topics, including the use of cellphones at school, school start times, school libraries and more. Learn more and provide your feedback.
If your child qualified for free and reduced-price meal benefits last school year, please be aware that you must renew your application by Wednesday, Oct. 9, in order to keep receiving benefits. If you have not done so already, please visit the district website to start the process. Please be aware that processing meal benefit applications may take several business days.
The CASEE campus will be hosting a track meet for the district’s middle schools on Thursday, Oct. 17. In order to ensure sufficient parking for participants and families, the district office will be closing at 4 p.m. We will reopen Friday at 7:30 a.m.
Parents/guardians of students who receive special education services or are on 504 plans are invited to apply to join a new parent advisory group. This is a great opportunity to share your insights and ideas on how to enhance educational experiences for students with special needs. If you are interested in participating, please take a few minutes to apply online by Monday, Oct. 14.
Attend the upcoming College and Career Fair to learn about apprenticeship programs, trade schools, military branches and colleges.

There will also be a financial aid workshop from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the school’s college and career center. All students and their families, regardless of what school or district they attend, are welcome. This event is open to the public.
Students can register for standardized tests that are used for credits, college/university admissions and more. Upcoming testing opportunities include the PSAT/NMSQT on Oct. 26 and World Language Testing on Oct. 26. The deadline to register for both is Friday, Oct. 18. Learn more.

Make sure you are registered to vote in the upcoming general and special election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Eligible voters can register online through Monday, Oct. 28, by visiting clarkvotes.org. From Oct. 29 until election night, you can register and vote in person by visiting the Clark County Elections Office. Ballots for the upcoming election will be mailed starting Oct. 16 and should arrive in mailboxes by Oct. 24. An online voter’s pamphlet and sample ballot are available on the Clark County Elections website.
Battle Ground Public Schools has a new mobile app and new websites. You can find the mobile app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Use it to set notifications for individual schools, quickly view updates, get alerts on weather-impacted days and much more.
