Replacement of expiring student educational programs and operations levy
Battle Ground Public School has a levy on the ballot for an election on Feb. 10, 2026. Even after the district made budget cuts for the current school year, state and federal funding alone do not cover the rising costs to educate 13,000 students in 19 schools. Starting in January 2026, Battle Ground Public Schools will be the only Southwest Washington school district without a local educational programs and operations levy. If approved, the levy would support: Student safety, discipline and assistant principals Smaller class sizes Special education Teachers Nursing Counselors and mental health support Sports/extracurricular activities And more Learn more about the levy. |

RHL Cafeteria Expectations |

| RHL Cafeteria Expectations For Students & Parents/Families 2025–2026
At RHL, we want every student’s lunchtime to be a safe, positive, and enjoyable part of the school day. To help make that happen, we have a few simple expectations in place so that our cafeteria stays clean, calm, and welcoming for everyone. During Breakfast & Lunch: Please stay seated for at least 10 minutes so everyone has time to enjoy their meal. Kindergarten students should stay with their parents or adult supervisor throughout lunch.
Students in Grades 1–4 may head out to recess after 10 minutes, but only after notifying a parent or adult supervisor.
A few friendly reminders:
Stay seated while eating your lunch. Please walk—no running in the cafeteria. (Running can lead to slips, spills, or bumps!)
Use indoor voices so everyone can enjoy a calm environment. When you're finished eating, remember to:
As lunch winds down: With multiple groups using the cafeteria each day, it’s important that we all help with a smooth transition. Around the 5-minute mark before the end of lunch, students and supervisors should begin getting ready to leave and help with final clean-up.
Thanks for helping us keep the RHL cafeteria a safe and happy place for all! |

RHL Parking Lot Procedures: Safety and Efficiency
Our parking lot is shared by River HomeLink, Maple Grove Primary, and Battle Ground Virtual Academy. For safety reasons we recommend cooperation and attention to start and dismissal timing for each school are essential. To keep our students and families safe, all drivers must follow RHL’s parking lot expectations during drop-off and pick-up.
Drivers - Cell phones may not be used while driving or stopped along the curb. Drop off and pick up curbside only - Do not stop in the driving lanes. Use crosswalks and walkways - Never cross between vehicles.
Prepare to exit and enter vehicles - Plan in advance students to exit and enter cars quickly and efficiently. After your student exits or enters the car, pull forward immediately to keep traffic moving. Traffic Reminder:
All RHL family vehicles must enter from the East entrance. Entering from the West causes backups onto Eaton Boulevard and may result in citations from the Battle Ground Police Department. Please review the attached map for correct entry and exit routes. Thank you for doing your part to keep our parking lot and campus safe and running smoothly! Schedules RHL: 8:15 AM–3:00 PM (Pick-up completed by 3:20 PM) MGP: 9:00 AM–3:40 PM (Arrive for pick-up after 3:20 PM) |

| RHL Cell Phone Policy
The board of directors has directed each school to adopt and implement the revised telecommunication devices policy (3245). River HomeLink is adopting the following for our school. What students can do
Bring cellphones and other personal electronic devices to school, but they must be silenced and remain out of sight (e.g., in a backpack) during class time, unless the student has been given permission by a teacher or school administrator.
Use cellphones and other personal electronic devices on school grounds before the beginning of the school day and after, during passing times and lunch and during emergency situations.
What students can't do
Use cellphones and other personal electronic devices during class time, unless given permission by a teacher or school administrator for instructional or educational purposes and usage is monitored. Send, share, view or possess content that violates district policies.
Take photos of or record other students without their explicit permission.
Discipline
Students who violate the cellphone policy will be subject to progressive disciplinary action up to and including confiscation of their phone/device and/or losing the privilege of bringing it onto school property. If a school chooses to confiscate the phone, they are required to ensure the security of the device. A school may require a parent/guardian to pick the phone up at the end of the school day. |
