Family Feedback: Bell to Bell, No Cell

All Falcon families are invited to give us their feedback on our new "Bell to Bell, No Cell" policy at PHS. The policy seems to be going well overall, but we would like feedback from our families' perspectives!

Please do so by clicking on this link: https://forms.gle/qLRGcNymaLBdZvra6

Sportsmanship--Thank You!

The PHS Athletic Department and administrative team have noticed the amazing, positive, and spirit-filled sportsmanship from our students and families at our athletic events - and we are SO proud of our Falcons!

Thank you for bringing the positivity to our games and meets, supporting our athletes and programs, and being the best school community in SW Washington!

Parent Conferences November 6-7

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held at PHS on November 6 and 7. Conferences are drop-in, meaning that families are free to come on any day or time that fits their schedules!

On Wednesday, November 6, conferences will be from 12:30-2:55.

On Thursday, November 7, conferences will be from 12:30-2:55, and then again from 4:00-7:00pm.

Students will be released from school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday that week at 11:25.

Conferences will be held in the commons in an arena-style format. Teachers will be arranged alphabetically by departments, and teachers who cannot be present will have signup sheets available for parents who would like them to reach out.

While the focus for fall conferences is mainly students with Ds and Fs, all families are welcome to attend.

We will also be hosting our annual Ceramics/Art Silent Auction in the Senior Lounge!

Additionally, we will have a table with new and gently-used shoes available for families. These were recently donated to the PHS community, are free, and are first-come, first-served!

See you soon, Falcons!

Be Prepared!

BF

Listen up, Falcons!

Coming to school prepared is vital in order to learn! Do your best to get enough sleep, eat enough food, and be prepared!

Charge your Chromebooks!

Bring paper!

Bring writing implements!

Do all the things you need to do to capitalize on learning opportunities!

PHS students have many resources available to them if supplies are difficult to obtain. If you are a student or family in need, please see your counselor or administrator, or simply speak to any trusted adult on campus! We are all in this together!

Tardiness Matters

We are seeing a dramatic uptick in students being tardy to classes, particularly during first, fourth, and fifth periods (after lunches). Our boys are currently tardy to class twice as often as our girls!

Being on time to class in high school is important for several reasons, impacting both academic success and personal development. When students are punctual, they don't miss key parts of lessons, including introductions to new topics or instructions for assignments. Teachers often explain important concepts at the beginning of class, so being late can lead to gaps in understanding. Being on time fosters habit of responsibility that are essential for future careers and personal success.

Arriving on time also shows respect for teachers and classmates, as lateness can disrupt the learning environment. In college, the workplace, or other settings, punctuality is essential. Developing the habit early makes it easier to adjust to professional expectations.

Overall, being on time to class builds essential life skills while ensuring students get the most out of their education.

Please help us by encouraging our students to arrive on time and prepared to learn!
