Be sure to pre-order your yearbook soon!!!. We only order a certain number of yearbooks each year, so be sure to reserve your copy right away to ensure you get one in June! Yearbooks will cost $20 and may be paid for at the school office with cash, check (made out to PVM) or card.

Looking for something to do?  Community Ed events

Be sure to check out our Community Events page for fun ideas of things to do throughout the local community. Opportunities include mentoring, tutoring, learning activities, sports and more.

All families with in-district or out-of-district boundary exceptions (choice transfers) for the current school year need to reapply for the upcoming school year. More information about this process and forms are on the district website.

Out-of-district choice transfers allow students who live outside of the district to attend BGPS schools. Applications for out-of-district choice transfers in 2026-27 will be accepted starting at 7 a.m. on May 1st. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.

ASB (Associated Student Body) is the student government for the middle school and is a great way for your child to develop leadership skills.  ASB is responsible for organizing student activities, representing the student body, and managing funds for clubs/events etc.

Campaigning and elections for the 2026-2027 school year ASB council is coming up soon.  Students who are considering running for election to ASB may pick up a packet of information and forms at the school office.  You may also download/view the forms by clicking the links below.

Important dates:

Friday, May 8th:  Informational meeting during 1st period for interested candidates (mandatory meeting if you are considering candidacy)

Friday, May 15th:  Declaration of candidacy form must be completed, signed, approved and turned in to school office by the end of the school day.

Monday, May 18th:  Campaign begins!  Posters must be approved before being displayed.  See handout.  Be sure to leave room around edges of posters to allow for tape when hanging posters.  Balls of tape on the back will not keep them on the wall.

Friday, May 22nd:  Elections, campaign speeches at election assembly.

Don't miss out on this fun ASB fundraiser event!  The Color Run/Walk is always a good time getting sprayed with color as you run or walk around the course.  Then there is the fun chalk dusting celebration at the end.  This fundraiser supports student events and activities planned by the ASB.  As shirts must be made and chalk ordered in advance of the event, our deadline to register and pay is Monday, May 4th.  Please have registration forms/payment to the school office as early as possible Monday morning.  The Color Run/Walk will take place May 22nd.

Hello 8th Grade Families.

We are excited to be working toward a special celebration for our 8th graders at the end of the school year! We will be having fundraising efforts throughout the year. Donations toward the 8th grade celebration may also be labeled and dropped in the green PTA drop boxes in the PVP and PVM offices.

Summer credit recovery options

High school credit recovery is available to current high schoolers, including high school seniors, who want to earn credit for a course they failed. Current eighth grade students may also recover credit for the Washington state history requirement. Learn more about what credits may be recovered and register for credit recovery starting on May 4.

Due to budget challenges, BGPS will not offer courses for original credit this summer, only credit recovery.

Cascadia Technical Academy summer school registration starts May 1

Cascadia Technical Academy’s summer school is available to students who will complete 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade at the end of this school year. Cascadia Tech’s summer school offers:

Short-term, specialized training programs designed for students who have not had the opportunity to attend Cascadia Tech because of scheduling conflicts.

Introductory training for students entering Cascadia Tech programs in the fall as well as opportunities for future Cascadia Tech students to explore different career options.

Additional training and reinforcement for students presently enrolled in Cascadia programs.

The skills learned at Cascadia Tech can pay off in the workforce later and/or help students discover areas in which they excel. Students can earn 0.5 high school career and technical education or elective credit.

School lunch menus for April are available online. Meals can be paid through InTouch Receipting.

Tdap booster for entering 7th grade

We want to remind parents/guardians of our 6th grade students that children are required to have a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) booster vaccination before entering their 7th grade year (or a certificate of exemption).  Please be sure to check with your medical provider to be sure your child's vaccinations are up to date before classes begin in the fall.

Updating contact and health information

Parents/guardians please make sure you are updating the School Health Form in Skyward each year so that we have correct and current information regarding your child/ren (complete the "Update" in Skyward Family Access. Update opens August 1st each year to update school forms.). Skyward does not pull information forward each school year. There are many School Health Forms that have not been updated for 2-4 years. We need current information and this is how we most often know if your child has a Life threatening health condition. We want to keep your child/ren safe while at school and we can't do our job if we do not have correct and updated information.

Life threatening health condition/allergy

If your student has a life threatening medical condition/allergy, we must have updated health information each year as well as medication at school forms for any rescue medications that need to be kept at the nurse's office at school. Parents and nurses work together to create an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for what to do for your child in the case of a medical emergency. Please contact our nurses if your student has a life threatening medical condition/allergy and you have not already alerted the school and had an EAP created. Students and parents will need to meet with nurses before a student may self-carry any rescue medications.

Staying healthy

Clark County Public Health recommends that people take the following actions to prevent colds, flu and other respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.

Stay home if running a fever or experiencing other symptoms of illness. See our guidelines for keeping children home from school for more information.

Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover coughs and sneezes. Use a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.

Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.

Thanksgiving break: Nov. 25-27

Winter break: Dec. 21-Jan. 1, 2027

Spring break: April 5-9

Last day of school: June 15 (unless there are weather-related closures that must be made up at the end of the school year)

Standardized testing opportunities

World language tests give students a chance to earn up to four credits and possibly the State Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma. Register online by April 10 for the test on April 25.

Report, don’t repost

If you see or hear of a possible threat, please report it to law enforcement directly and/or to school staff. This is the best and most helpful action because it begins an investigation and helps to limit the potential for misinformation to spread. You can report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Emergencies should always be reported to 911.

Family and Community Resource Center

Battle Ground Public Schools’ Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) helps meet the needs of families faced with housing instability and similar economic challenges.

While a main goal of the FCRC is to assist families experiencing housing instability, it can also help connect families with many other types of resources and is intended to respond to the changing needs of the community.

The FCRC is a continuation of the district’s joint efforts with the Battle Ground Education Foundation, an all-volunteer, nonprofit community organization whose purpose is to leverage community resources to help maintain quality education for all students in Battle Ground schools.
