LMS 1st Semester Honor Roll Assemblies |
Hello Laurin Middle School families, We have some exciting news about our upcoming Honor Roll assemblies. We will be recognizing students who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher first semester, and families of students on the Honor Roll are welcome to join us as we celebrate their achievements.
The 5th and 6th grade Honor Roll assembly will take place on February 18th during advisory time, from 9:10 to 9:54 a.m. The 7th and 8th grade Honor Roll assembly will take place on February 25th, also during advisory time, from 9:10 to 9:54 a.m.
All assemblies will be held in the gym. We ask that families please arrive a few minutes early, as the assemblies will begin promptly at 9:10 a.m. We are proud of our students and look forward to celebrating their hard work. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you there. |
LMS 2026 Spelling Bee Champion |
Congratulations to 8th grade student Ruby Kaur, our LMS 2026 Spelling Bee Champion! She will represent Laurin Middle School at the Regional Championship on March 7th at the University of Portland (Go Pilots!).
Her winning word was "misanthrope". The competition went 13 rounds and everyone in attendance agreed that Laurin produces SPELLERS. Congrats to all the contestants! LMS looks forward to doing it again next year! |

Please note your child’s report card will be available to view in Skyward and print at home after the end of the first semester. Get instructions for viewing grades and report cards. Logging into Skyward will give you the quickest access to your child’s grades. Paper report cards will not be mailed to every family as in past years but will still be available upon request. Thank you for your understanding as we make this change.

Eleventh annual BGPS Industry Fair set for Feb. 19 |
Save the date! The 11th annual Battle Ground Public Schools Industry Fair will be held at Battle Ground High School on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 5-7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Come meet with local employers to learn about apprenticeship opportunities and employment in fields such as health care, education, manufacturing, technology, construction and many more. There will also be a resume workshop in the high school’s career center from 4-6 p.m.

Get ready for winter weather |
Are you prepared for snow or inclement weather that could delay or cancel school? Here are some tips:
Download and/or print our weather guide (русский) (Español). Confirm whether your child’s school(s) are in the north or south part of the district.
Make sure your primary phone number and email address are correct in Skyward Family Access.
If your child rides the bus, make sure you know their snow route.
Download the Battle Ground Public Schools app on the Apple App Store or Google Play and allow push notifications.
Follow Battle Ground Public Schools on Facebook or Instagram.

Do you know an amazing staff member? The Employee Recognition Award highlights staff members who reflect the district’s strategic plan goals. Three to five nominees are selected each month and recognized at a board meeting. Everyone is welcome to submit a nomination. |
