A collage of photos under a banner that reads "a fond farewell to our 2025 retirees"

The end of every school year includes a bittersweet farewell to valued employees heading off into retirement. This year, we bid best wishes to nearly three dozen employees comprising almost 730 years of service to Battle Ground students and our school communities. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for their many years of dedication to helping our students succeed and wish them well in their next journey.

During the meeting, the board honored outgoing Superintendent Denny Waters and student board representative Julia Stiffler, a River HomeLink graduate. Waters is retiring after a career of nearly 40 years in education, including 18 years with Battle Ground Public Schools, the last four as superintendent. ASPIRE student play walks through the history of Washington

Students (one dressed as a tree) give a presentation on the history of Washington state

Students in the ASPIRE program at Captain Strong Primary recently presented a play on the history of Washington state. Tracing from the original Washington territory to treaties with Native American tribes, the emergence of the fur trade and timber industries and much more, this presentation was the culmination of the class's history assignment for the year. It was amazing to see these third and fourth graders recite from memory complex histories of the region. Well done, students!
